The Qatif Governorate Municipality concluded its fifth annual Flower Festival, held at Al-Mashari Corniche, achieving resounding success and record-breaking attendance. After 17 days of continuous events, the festival attracted over 470,000 visitors from across the Kingdom and the Gulf region, reflecting Qatif's growing prominence as a leading tourist and entertainment destination in the Eastern Province.
Cultural context and sustainable development
The organization of this festival comes as part of the efforts of the Eastern Province Municipality and the Qatif Municipality to enhance the "Quality of Life" programs, one of the pillars of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Qatif Governorate boasts a rich agricultural history, having been historically known as a lush green oasis, making the establishment of a flower festival there an event that aligns with the region's identity and environmental heritage. The importance of this event extends beyond mere entertainment; its impact also includes stimulating tourism and the economy, supporting local producers and artisans, and contributing to a distinctive cultural and social movement.

The festival transformed the waterfront at Al-Mashari Corniche into a natural work of art, showcasing over a million meticulously arranged seasonal flowers in a variety of beautiful displays. The "Giant Bouquet of Roses" captivated visitors, as did the Greek-inspired designs at the waterfront café, which became prime spots for taking memorable photos and capturing beautiful moments amidst stunning natural scenery.
75 entertainment shows and cultural diversity
The festival wasn't limited to a flower show; it offered a comprehensive entertainment and cultural program featuring over 75 diverse performances. These included folk dances reflecting the region's heritage, a children's theater, dazzling fire shows, interactive competitions, and a spectacular fireworks display that illuminated the Corniche sky. The festival also provided a vibrant platform for artisans and craftspeople through 150 art and craft booths, allowing visitors to explore handmade and creative products. The festival featured high-level logistical organization to ensure the smooth flow of crowds and vehicles, with the active participation of 200 volunteers who worked alongside municipal teams to manage the site and guide visitors.
