The governor of Qatif supports the programs of the Abarq Charity Association in Hallat Mahish
As part of ongoing efforts to promote social and charitable work in the Eastern Province, the Governor of Qatif, Mr. Abdullah bin Saad Al-Saif, met today, Tuesday, at the Governorate headquarters, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abarq Humanitarian Services Association in the town of Hallat Mahish, Mr. Ahmed bin Jaafar Al-Yousef, accompanied by a delegation of association members. This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings held by the Governor with officials of non-profit organizations to ensure that their work is carried out in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the leadership and the community.
Review of development initiatives and future plans
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the most prominent efforts undertaken by the Abarq Association to serve beneficiaries within its scope of services. The two sides discussed the association's current development initiatives, as well as future strategic plans aimed at expanding the reach of its services and improving the quality of services provided to beneficiary families and vulnerable groups, thus ensuring their transition from a welfare-based to a self-reliant, development-oriented approach.
The non-profit sector is a key pillar of Vision 2030
In a related context, this meeting holds particular significance given the major transformations underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030. The non-profit sector (the third sector) is a key pillar upon which the state relies for social and economic development. Through its National Transformation Program, the Kingdom seeks to increase the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP and empower charitable organizations to play a more effective role in addressing social challenges. This was emphasized by the Governor of Qatif when he spoke about the importance of aligning the association's programs with the objectives of the National Vision.
Supporting the leadership and directives of the Eastern Province
Al-Saif praised the vital role played by the province's associations, including the Abarq Association, in promoting social solidarity and serving the community. He emphasized that these developmental efforts enjoy unlimited support and significant attention from the wise leadership – may God protect them. He also noted the continuous and meticulous follow-up by His Royal Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province and his deputy – may God preserve them – who are deeply committed to removing obstacles facing charitable associations to enable them to fulfill their noble mission of enhancing the quality of life for citizens and residents.
Strengthening partnerships to achieve sustainability
During the meeting, the Governor of Qatif urged the association's officials to continue developing their programs and mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of activating strategic partnerships with various government entities and the private sector (both primary and secondary sectors). These partnerships are considered crucial for achieving the sustainable impact of charitable projects, ensuring the continuity of resources, and integrating roles to serve the public good.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abarq Association, Ahmed Al-Yousef, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their generous support of the non-profit sector and humanitarian work. He also commended the Governor of Qatif for his attention and follow-up, praising his continuous support, sound guidance, and provision of all necessary resources to enable the association to achieve its goals and serve the local community in Hallat Mahish and the Qatif Governorate in general.
