The Food Trail opens at the Royal Palace: Riyadh's new culinary destination
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced a new initiative to enhance the capital's tourism and entertainment landscape with the opening of the "Food Lane" project, starting Wednesday, in the heart of the historic Qasr Al-Hukm district. This project aims to create a major attraction that blends historical charm with modern flavors, offering an exceptional experience for lovers of local and international cuisine in an atmosphere that combines tradition and contemporary style.
A unique tasting experience in the heart of history
The "Food Lane" project stands out for its innovative dining concept, housing 84 diverse outlets offering a wide array of flavors and creative culinary concepts. The project focuses on presenting food prepared live in front of diners by chefs, adding an interactive and vibrant element to the experience, while adhering to the highest standards of quality, speed, and simplicity in presentation. This makes it a preferred destination for families and individuals seeking a rich and unique dining experience.
The historical significance of the Qasr al-Hukm area
This project's significance stems not only from its status as a culinary destination but also from its strategic location in the Qasr al-Hukm district. This area is the vibrant heart of Riyadh and the political and historical center from which the Saudi state was founded. The launch of "Sikkat al-Ta'amiya" (Food Trail) at this location is part of the Royal Commission's strategy to revitalize downtown Riyadh, connecting new generations with their rich history through contemporary events that attract visitors to heritage sites, thereby strengthening national identity and stimulating cultural tourism.
Supporting the local economy and Vision 2030
The "Food Track" project aligns directly with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, specifically the Quality of Life Program, by diversifying entertainment options for residents and visitors. It also plays a pivotal role in supporting the local economy by empowering entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project provides an ideal platform for these young people to showcase their products and innovations in a competitive and open environment, contributing to the creation of new job opportunities and stimulating commercial activity in the heart of the capital.
Details of the first phase and working hours
The first phase of the opening saw the launch of 45 retail outlets, in addition to the development of a dedicated events plaza and public facilities to serve visitors. The authority has set operating hours during the holy month of Ramadan from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique Ramadan atmosphere in one of the Kingdom's most important historical areas.
