Distance learning will be implemented in Najran tomorrow, Monday, via the Madrasati platform

The General Directorate of Education in Najran announced that classes will be held remotely via the "My School" platform starting tomorrow, Monday, August 7, 1447 AH (corresponding to August 7, 2026). This decision applies to all schools in Najran city, as well as the governorates of Khubash, Thar, Habuna, Badr Al-Janoub, Yadma, and Sharurah. The decision also includes all students at all grade levels, in addition to school staff and education office personnel.
Reasons for the decision and the Ministry's commitment to safety
This decision was based on reports from the National Center for Meteorology, which indicated weather fluctuations that could affect safe travel and in-person attendance. The Ministry of Education and its departments across the country consistently emphasize that the safety of students, teachers, and administrative staff is its top priority. The Ministry employs a flexible mechanism that empowers education directors to decide on distance learning in coordination with relevant authorities, ensuring that no member of the education system is exposed to risks resulting from heavy rain, dust storms, or other weather phenomena.
My School platform: A digital infrastructure that ensures the continuity of education
This measure highlights the high level of readiness of the digital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, where weather conditions are no longer a reason to halt the educational process as they were in the past. The "My School" platform is a leading national model in e-learning, through which the Kingdom has been able to ensure the continuity of the educational journey without interruption, whether during previous global health crises or in cases of recurring weather fluctuations.
The platform provides all the necessary tools for teachers and students to interact directly, attend classes, and complete assignments and tests, reflecting the success of the digital transformation strategies adopted by the Kingdom within Vision 2030, which aims to build a vibrant society and a thriving economy that relies on technology to manage daily life.
Educational and social impact
The seamless transition from in-person to remote learning in just a few hours reflects a significant development in the digital literacy of Saudi society, including students, parents, and teachers. This learning model ensures that students do not fall behind in their coursework and maintains the academic year's schedule without the need for make-up classes later. It also fosters a sense of self-responsibility among students in managing their time and engaging in self-directed learning, essential skills for the future.
In conclusion, the Najran Education Department called on everyone to adhere to the instructions and follow the official channels to get updates, wishing everyone safety and success to the students on their virtual school day.
