Makkah Chamber organizes Seasons Forum for seasonal employment to support the Hajj season

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering the local labor market and meeting increased demand during peak periods, the Makkah Chamber of Commerce organized the "Seasons" Seasonal Employment Forum. This event is part of ongoing efforts to connect commercial and service establishments with seasonal needs with young Saudi talent, reflecting the Chamber's commitment to supporting Saudization and empowering Saudi professionals across various sectors.
Details of the forum and broad participation
The forum witnessed significant job activity through the hosting of four specialized enrichment sessions, with broad participation from 26 entities representing major private sector establishments in the region. The event attracted more than 1,500 job seekers, and its role extended beyond direct recruitment to include providing a comprehensive package of support services such as professional and legal consultations, dedicated areas for career guidance and workshops, in addition to a job fair that directly contributed to expediting the recruitment process and personal interviews.
Economic importance and strategic context
The "Seasons" forum derives its paramount importance from the unique geographical and economic characteristics of the Makkah region, the beating heart of religious tourism in the Islamic world. With the increasing number of Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of hosting 30 million Umrah pilgrims, there is a pressing need for qualified personnel capable of efficiently managing the operational seasons. This need is concentrated in vital sectors experiencing rapid growth, most notably Hajj and Umrah services, the hospitality and hotel sector, catering, and the retail sector, making seasonal employment a cornerstone for the success of these seasons.
Empowering the private sector and raising readiness
Commenting on the event, Fadi Dahlawi, CEO of Corporate Communications at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, explained that the forum is an extension of the Chamber's pivotal role in empowering private sector establishments and enhancing their readiness for peak seasons, especially the Hajj season, which requires massive logistical and human resource preparations. Dahlawi noted that the forum aims not only to fill vacancies but also to improve employment efficiency, support the sustainability of the labor market, and enhance the operational readiness of establishments. This, in turn, directly and positively impacts the quality of services provided to pilgrims and reinforces the Kingdom's positive image.
Call to take advantage of development initiatives
The events concluded with an open invitation from the Chamber to business owners and entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the initiatives launched by the Makkah Chamber of Commerce's development centers. These initiatives include specialized programs and events in the areas of training, strategic localization, and entrepreneurship, all aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of businesses and strengthening their financial and administrative sustainability in the highly competitive Saudi market.
