Riyadh weather forecast for tomorrow: Weather warning about strong winds and dust storms

The National Center for Meteorology issued an important weather alert for the Riyadh region, indicating that the capital and its surrounding governorates will be affected by a wave of unstable weather conditions requiring caution. The center explained that the region will experience strong surface winds that will stir up dust and sand, leading to a significant decrease in horizontal visibility. This necessitates particular attention from drivers and highway users.

Weather details and affected areas

According to the meteorological report, this weather system will begin affecting the region at 8:00 AM tomorrow and continue until 6:00 PM. The warning is not limited to the capital, Riyadh , but extends to a wide range of governorates and centers within the region, including: Diriyah, Thadiq, Huraymila, Rumah, Dhurma, Marat, Al-Hariq, Al-Dilam, Al-Muzahmiya, and Hawtat Bani Tamim. The effects also extend to the western, southern, and northern governorates of the region, such as Al-Dawadmi, Al-Rayn, Al-Quway'iyah, Afif, Al-Aflaj, As-Sulayyil, Wadi Ad-Dawasir, as well as Az-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Al-Majma'ah, and Shaqra.

Climatic context and surface wind effects

These weather fluctuations are typical of the climate in the central regions of the Kingdom, where surface winds are active during certain transitional periods, contributing to the stirring up of dust and sand due to the open, desert geography of these areas. Dust storms are a common weather phenomenon that directly affects air quality and visibility levels, necessitating continuous monitoring of weather forecasts issued by official authorities.

Safety recommendations and the importance of caution

Due to the expected decrease in horizontal visibility, experts advise caution while driving on highways connecting Riyadh's provinces, and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles. Those with respiratory conditions, asthma, and allergies are also advised to avoid direct exposure to dust and remain indoors as much as possible during the warning period to ensure their health and safety.

Weather conditions in the rest of the Kingdom

In related news regarding Saudi Arabia's weather , the National Center for Meteorology reported that active winds stirring up dust and sand will continue to affect parts of Tabuk, Madinah, and Makkah, particularly their coastal areas, as well as parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, Hail, Al-Qassim, and Eastern regions. Meanwhile, there remains a chance of scattered rain, possibly accompanied by fog, over the southwestern highlands, including parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, thus creating variations in weather conditions across the Kingdom.
