Sulaiman Al Habib Hospitals receive JCI accreditation in 5 new branches

In a move that reinforces the leading role of the private healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group has achieved a new milestone, with five of its hospitals – Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Al Khobar, Al Hamra, Al Sahafa, Al Muhammadiyah, and Al Faiha in Jeddah – gaining the confidence of the Joint Commission International (JCI) and obtaining JCI accreditation. This achievement underscores the group's commitment to implementing the highest standards of quality and patient safety, while work is currently underway at the other branches to fulfill the requirements for accreditation renewal.
Global standards for patient safety
The Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation is considered the global gold standard in healthcare, awarded only to facilities that demonstrate a rigorous and continuous commitment to over 1,000 specific standards covering all aspects of medical and administrative care. This accreditation focuses primarily on improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of services provided to patients, placing accredited hospitals among the world's most prestigious medical institutions.
Group leaders: A drive towards excellence
Commenting on this achievement, Professor Saleh Al-Dahamsi, General Manager of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Hospital in Al-Khobar, affirmed that the renewal of this accreditation is the fruit of tremendous collective efforts exerted by medical, technical, and administrative staff. He pointed out that this success represents a strong incentive for continuous improvement and enhances the competitiveness of Saudi healthcare facilities regionally and internationally.
For his part, Professor Abdullah Al-Turki, General Manager of Al-Muhammadiyah Hospital in Jeddah, expressed his pride in this accreditation, which reflects the unlimited support from the group's management, praising the application of integrated automated systems in the areas of sterilization and infection control, which ensures the highest levels of safety for patients.
Technology and artificial intelligence as a pillar of quality
In a related context, Dr. Rami Al-Sabil, Director General of Al-Hamra Hospital, explained that adhering to international standards reflects the hospital's outstanding professional level. Meanwhile, Dr. Ayman Al-Khadra, Director General of Al-Sahafa Hospital, pointed to the pivotal role of technology in this achievement, noting that the hospital relies on an integrated digital system, artificial intelligence technologies, and smart health systems, which facilitates the precise and rigorous application of quality standards.
Impact of the achievement on the national health sector
This event is particularly significant given the major transformations underway in the Kingdom's healthcare sector as part of Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program, which aims to facilitate access to and improve the quality of healthcare services. The acquisition of consecutive international accreditations by a national medical group of this size contributes to raising public health indicators in the Kingdom and strengthens Saudi Arabia's position as a leading destination for medical tourism in the region, confirming the ability of Saudi professionals and facilities to compete with their global counterparts in providing innovative and safe medical solutions.
