Royal decree: 218 judges promoted and appointed in the Saudi Ministry of Justice
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, issued a royal decree promoting and appointing 218 judges in the Ministry of Justice across various levels of the judiciary. This strategic step reflects the wise leadership's commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the judicial system and providing it with qualified national talent that contributes to achieving swift justice.
Ongoing support for the judicial system
In this context, His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Sheikh Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, affirmed that this generous directive represents a continuation of the generous and ongoing support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them both. His Excellency explained that the leadership places great importance on the judicial system, keen to enhance the quality of its outputs and continuously improve its performance.
Historical context and the objectives of Vision 2030
Historically, the judicial system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed radical transformations and rapid developments, particularly since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030. The Vision has focused on developing the legislative and legal environment, which is reflected in the issuance of several modern laws, such as the Personal Status Law and the Civil Transactions Law. Injecting new blood into the judiciary through the promotion and appointment of new judges is a complementary step to these reforms, ensuring the presence of qualified personnel capable of understanding and implementing these modern laws with high efficiency and keeping pace with the comprehensive development of the country.
Local impact: Accelerating litigation and improving the beneficiary experience
Domestically, this decision has a direct and positive impact on citizens and residents. Increasing the number of judges and promoting them effectively contributes to expediting litigation and reducing case processing times, thus achieving the principle of "swift justice." This support also enhances the experience of those using judicial services, raises their satisfaction levels, and ensures the protection and preservation of rights according to the highest professional and legal standards.
The economic and international impact of strengthening the judiciary
At the regional and international levels, strengthening the independence and efficiency of the Saudi judiciary sends strong reassuring messages to foreign investors and global companies. A reliable and transparent legal environment is a cornerstone for attracting foreign direct investment, which supports the Kingdom's economic objectives of diversifying its sources of income. A sophisticated and responsive judicial system enhances the global competitiveness of the Saudi economy and underscores the Kingdom's commitment to providing a safe and stable business environment that protects rights and rigorously enforces contracts.
Aspirations towards a bright future for justice
In closing his statement, Dr. Al-Samaani expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership - may God support them - for their unlimited support, asking God Almighty to grant success to the honorable judges included in the royal decree in performing their weighty tasks, and to help them establish justice and uphold the truth, in a way that meets the aspirations of the leadership and serves the interest of the nation and the citizen, and consolidates the Kingdom’s position as a leading country in the application of justice.
