Al-Qadsia's knight returns to competition
In statements to the Okaz newspaper, Al-Owairan praised the qualitative leap Al-Qadisiyah Club has witnessed this season, noting that the team did not merely participate but succeeded in igniting the competitive spirit in the Saudi Professional League. Al-Owairan said, "I congratulate you on the holy month. Al-Qadisiyah is no longer a mere participant, but has become a formidable force and a fierce competitor to the four major clubs (Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad). This competition is what we hoped for, to restore balance to Saudi football and to ensure the Eastern Province is always at the forefront of the sporting scene.".
Eastern Province: A Historical Talent Mine
Al-Owairan continued, recalling the rich history of the Eastern Province clubs, emphasizing that Al-Qadisiyah's strong return, alongside Al-Ettifaq and Al-Nahda, directly and positively impacts the Saudi national team's performance. He added, "Historically, Eastern Province clubs have been the primary source of talent for the national teams, and the development of stars within these clubs has contributed to the Green Falcons' numerous continental championships. The strength of the league lies in the diversity of its competitors, and the presence of a strong Eastern Province powerhouse enhances the competition's competitiveness and increases its appeal to fans and the media.".
