Salah sends a strong message before leaving: Liverpool is the worst club when they lose
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah sent a message to his teammates and coach Arne Slott before leaving Anfield.
The Egyptian star will play his last match in the "Reds" jersey against Brentford today (Sunday), as part of the 38th round of the English Premier League, and then leave after 9 years during which he achieved many individual record achievements, in addition to leading the team to regain local, continental and global glory.
Salah bids farewell to his teammates
Salah said in his last training session with Liverpool: “I truly appreciate every moment I’ve spent at this club. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being with all of you, and I will cherish this memory. So thank you very much, and I hope to see you again soon.”.
A final message to the coach and players
After Andrew Robertson, who is also leaving Liverpool, spoke, Salah quickly intervened to add a final message to his teammates and the coach, saying: “Wait, there is something else I want to say, being at Liverpool and winning here is the best thing that can happen to you.”.
He added: “I think this is the best club in the world when you win something, and the worst club in the world when you lose; so you better win next year.”.
A disappointing season for Liverpool
Liverpool failed to win any title this season and are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 59 points. They need a draw against Brentford to secure a place in next season's Champions League.
