Dongfeng launches MHERO and VOYAH at the Riyadh Motor Show
In a strategic move to enhance its presence in Middle Eastern markets, Dongfeng Motor Group, the Chinese automotive giant, announced the official launch of its two luxury brands, MHERO and VOYAH, during its distinguished participation in the Riyadh Motor Show, which is one of the most important events in the automotive sector in the region.
This simultaneous launch of the two brands in Saudi Arabia reflects the growing importance of the Saudi market as a major gateway to the automotive sector in the Middle East, especially in light of the major economic transformations taking place in the Kingdom within Vision 2030, which encourages the adoption of sustainable transport solutions and clean energy, making the timing of the launch of these electric and hybrid models ideal to keep pace with governmental and popular trends towards environmentally friendly cars.
Commenting on the event, Simon Akers, Executive Vice President of Arabian Frontier, a member of the Al Ghurair Group and the group’s local partner, said: “The Riyadh Motor Show is a strategic platform to introduce the M-Hero and Voya brands to customers in the Kingdom and the region. This launch reflects the group’s commitment to building a long-term presence in the Middle East through local partnerships that support new energy development plans and smart mobility solutions.”.
The M-Hero brand enters the market as a strong player in the luxury off-road vehicle segment, leveraging Dongfeng's more than 57 years of research and development experience. Its models are designed to combine the luxury required for everyday urban use with the ruggedness needed to tackle the region's harsh desert terrain. The stand features the M-Hero 1 and M-Hero 2 models, which boast a full aluminum body and a hybrid system that generates a massive 848 Nm of torque, along with exceptional wading capabilities of up to 900 mm.
On the other hand, the Voya brand offers a new concept of smart electric luxury, developed on a proprietary technology platform that integrates advanced electric drive systems with high safety standards. Voya, and specifically its flagship Voya Dream model, targets customers seeking luxury and tranquility, emphasizing a spacious cabin and excellent noise insulation, making it an ideal choice for business travelers and families on long journeys.
Bayan Khairat, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Arabian Frontier, explained that the regional market now requires smart vehicles that combine driving comfort with durability, noting that the group aims to achieve sustainable growth through an advanced after-sales service network and a charging infrastructure that supports the spread of electric cars.
It is worth noting that the rise of Chinese brands in the Gulf markets has become a remarkable phenomenon in recent years, as companies such as Dongfeng have succeeded in changing the stereotypical image by offering high-quality products that compete with major European and Japanese brands, supported by artificial intelligence technologies and modern designs that mimic global taste with oriental aesthetic touches.
