As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading role in global humanitarian work, and continuing its steadfast commitment to supporting Arab and Muslim peoples during crises, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a new package of high-quality medical and relief assistance in the Syrian Arab Republic. These efforts are part of the Kingdom’s strategy to alleviate the suffering of those affected and provide essential needs in the health and shelter sectors.
"Noor Saudi Arabia" program in Damascus
The center launched the "Noor Saudi Arabia Volunteer Program," specializing in combating blindness and its causes, which was hosted by the city of Damascus from January 31 to February 8, 2026. The campaign witnessed the participation of a volunteer medical team consisting of four consultants and specialists from Saudi Arabia, who dedicated their expertise to serving Syrian patients.
According to the campaign's official statistics, the medical team achieved tangible accomplishments, including:
- Thorough medical examination of 2,100 beneficiaries from different age groups.
- specialized cataract surgeries were performed
- pairs of eyeglasses were distributed to those in need after the necessary examinations were conducted.
This program is of utmost importance due to the high costs of eye surgeries and the difficulty of accessing specialized medical services in some areas, making the intervention of the King Salman Center a lifeline for many families.

Alongside its medical efforts, the center continued its work to combat the severe cold waves hitting the region, distributing 866 shopping vouchers as part of its "Kanaf" winter clothing distribution project for 2026. This unique project aims to preserve the dignity of beneficiaries by enabling them to choose their own winter clothing from approved stores.
The aid covered wide geographical areas, including:
- Latakia Governorate: Kinsabba and Salma centers.
- Daraa Governorate: Kinsabba and Busra al-Sham centers.
- Idlib Governorate: Khirbet al-Jawz Center.
866 individuals benefited from these vouchers , which helped provide warmth to the most needy families in light of the difficult climatic conditions.
