Physical Education Diploma for Teachers 2026: Requirements and Application Link

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing professional competence in the education sector, the Saudi Ministry of Education, in academic partnership with King Saud University, announced the launch of the "Qualifying Diploma in Physical Education." This program, designed for female teachers in educational positions, comes in response to the growing need to develop female talent in school sports, aligning with national initiatives to empower women across various sectors.

Context of Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program

This educational initiative is an integral part of the goals of "Saudi Vision 2030," specifically within the "Quality of Life" program, which aims to promote sports participation in society. Since the introduction of physical education in girls' schools, a pressing need has emerged to provide female teachers with scientific and practical training that goes beyond traditional methods to professionalism in sports coaching and management. This diploma is a fundamental pillar in bridging the gap between field needs and available qualifications, ensuring the provision of safe and effective physical education classes for female students.

Study plan details and timetable

The ministry explained that the program will be implemented through distance learning, according to an approved curriculum spanning two semesters and comprising 28 study units. These units are designed to skillfully combine theoretical and practical aspects, ensuring that teachers are well-versed in the foundations and concepts of modern physical education.

According to the announced schedule, applications for the program will be accepted from Monday, January 5, 2026, until January 31, 2026. Final selection results are scheduled to be announced on February 5, 2026, with classes commencing on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The first semester will run until June 11, 2026, while the second semester will begin on August 30 and end on December 24, 2026.

Scientific content and desired objectives

The program not only teaches mathematical rules, but also aims to equip teachers with comprehensive skills that include:

  • Developing teaching skills in team and individual games.
  • Designing innovative physical education lessons that take into account individual differences.
  • Professional handling of sports injuries and first aid principles is a vital aspect of student safety.
  • Management of school sports facilities and events.

Admission requirements and nomination criteria

The Ministry of Education confirmed that the program is open to all specializations based on need, with no age limit. However, admission is subject to strict criteria, including appropriate health fitness, and prioritization based on academic qualifications, seniority, and job performance. The Ministry also emphasized that enrollment in the program does not grant a leave of absence from work, nor does it result in an immediate change of specialization or promotion. Rather, it is considered an investment in the teacher's professional development.

This program represents a qualitative leap in the qualification of educational staff, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the physical and psychological health and development of female students, contributing to building a conscious athletic generation.
