Saudi Arabia condemns the Balochistan attacks and expresses solidarity with Pakistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by separatist groups in various parts of Balochistan province in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which aimed to destabilize security and stability in this vital region.

In an official statement, the Ministry affirmed the Kingdom's firm and unwavering stance against all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism, regardless of their motives or justifications. It emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both its leadership and its people, stand with their brothers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and fully support all security efforts and measures undertaken by Pakistani authorities to safeguard their territory and protect their citizens from the threat of armed groups.

Context of tensions in Balochistan province

This Saudi condemnation comes at a time when Balochistan, in southwestern Pakistan, is facing escalating security challenges. The largest province in Pakistan, rich in natural resources and minerals, has been plagued by armed separatist groups for decades. These attacks typically target security forces, infrastructure, and development projects, posing a significant challenge to the Pakistani government's efforts to enforce law and order and promote economic development in this strategically important region, which connects South and Central Asia.

The depth of Saudi-Pakistani relations

The Saudi statement reflects the depth of the historical and strategic relations between Riyadh and Islamabad. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been among the first countries to support Pakistan in various crises, whether security-related, economic, or natural disasters. This ongoing political solidarity underscores that Pakistan's security is an integral part of regional security, which the Kingdom is keen to strengthen. Saudi Arabia views Pakistan as a vital strategic partner in the Islamic world, and the two countries share close cooperation in counterterrorism, intelligence sharing, and military training.

A message of solidarity and sympathy

In closing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of these criminal acts, and to the government and people of the brotherly Republic of Pakistan, praying to God Almighty to grant His mercy to the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured. This incident underscores the international and regional calls for concerted efforts to eradicate terrorism and eliminate its sources in order to ensure a secure and stable future for the peoples of the region.
