The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Cairo hosted a ceremony for the handover of a gift consisting of 10 tons of premium dates intended for distribution to beneficiaries and those most in need. The ceremony was attended by several diplomatic and official figures, including the Deputy Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Egypt, Khalid bin Hammad Al-Shammari, the Director of Public Relations at the Tahya Misr Fund, Major General Hossam Wasel, the Head of the Islamic Affairs Unit at the Embassy, Fahd bin Malafikh, and the representative of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Mohammed Al-Duwaish.
A global program to serve Muslims
This initiative is not limited to the Arab Republic of Egypt alone, but falls under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' program for distributing premium dates, one of the annual specialized programs overseen and implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. This program covers more than 120 countries worldwide during the holy month of Ramadan, embodying the directives of the wise leadership in the Kingdom, which is always keen to address the needs of Muslims and share with them the joy of this blessed month.
The depth of Saudi-Egyptian relations
This gift reflects the depth of the historical and strategic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The ties between the two brotherly nations are characterized by integration and continuous cooperation across various fields, particularly in humanitarian and social spheres. These annual initiatives serve as tangible proof of Arab and Islamic solidarity and reaffirm the Kingdom's leading role in serving the causes of the Islamic nation and supporting its people.
Social and humanitarian impact
Cooperation with trusted official entities such as the Tahya Misr Fund helps ensure that this aid reaches deserving families in need across the country. This gift is especially significant as Ramadan approaches, since dates are an essential part of the Ramadan table, thus helping to alleviate the financial burdens on beneficiaries and bring joy to their hearts during these blessed days.
