Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries condemn Israeli violations in Gaza

In a broad diplomatic move reflecting the gravity of the situation on the ground, the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkey expressed their strong and unequivocal condemnation of Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The joint statement noted that these violations have resulted in over a thousand Palestinian casualties, both dead and wounded, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Undermining peace and regional stability efforts

The ministers affirmed in their statement that these aggressive practices constitute a dangerous escalation that not only threatens the security of Gaza but also risks inflaming tensions throughout the region and undermining the tireless international efforts to establish a ceasefire. This escalation comes at a critical juncture, as regional and international parties are working together to advance the second phase of President Donald Trump's peace plan and to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which aims to establish the foundations for international peace and security.

From a geopolitical perspective, this consensus among influential states in the Islamic and Arab world sends a clear message to the international community about the need for immediate intervention. The continuation of these violations poses a direct threat to the political process and hinders ongoing efforts to create the conditions necessary for a more stable transition in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian conditions. This requires a full commitment from all parties to ensure the success of the proposed peace initiatives.

International responsibility and the humanitarian situation

The ministers stressed the need for full commitment to ensuring the success of the second phase of the peace plan, calling on all parties to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities during this critical period. They also urged maximum restraint to maintain and sustain the ceasefire, and to refrain from any actions or practices that could undermine current efforts, in order to create the conditions conducive to the urgently needed early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

In a related context, this statement reaffirms the unwavering Arab and Islamic positions on the Palestinian issue, with the ministers reiterating the importance of achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. They clarified that this peace must be based fundamentally on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state, in accordance with the principles of international law, relevant Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, which remains the primary framework for a diplomatic solution in the region.
