Objectives of the Quran Recitation Center and Target Groups

The Quranic recitation center is open to all those wishing to learn to read the Holy Quran, correct their recitation, and perfect their vocal performance according to the rules of Tajweed. The teaching is conducted by a select group of specialized reciters who have received certification with an unbroken chain of transmission (sanad) back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), ensuring the quality of educational outcomes and achieving the highest standards of accuracy in Quranic recitation. The university awards an accredited certificate of attendance to those who regularly attend the program, thus enhancing the value of academic participation and motivating learners to continue their studies.

The historical leadership of Umm Al-Qura University in serving the Qur'an

This program is not merely a passing training course, but rather an extension of the rich historical legacy of Umm Al-Qura University. Since its founding, the university's name has been linked to Mecca, the birthplace of revelation and the source of the message, thus elevating it to a prominent position in the Islamic world as a beacon of Islamic and Quranic sciences. The College of Da'wah and Fundamentals of Religion and the Colleges of Sharia at the university are among the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the region, having produced thousands of scholars and reciters who have disseminated the science of Quranic readings throughout the world.

Using technology to serve Islamic sciences

The launch of the online Quran recitation program comes as part of the university's commitment to digital transformation and the integration of modern technologies in Islamic education. Through its online learning platforms, the university provides students from within and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the opportunity to participate in the program, thus overcoming geographical barriers. This initiative reflects a strategic vision aimed at disseminating the university's academic and outreach message globally, and enabling Muslims in various countries to receive Quranic recitation orally from skilled reciters in the virtual sanctuary of Mecca.

Expected impact locally and globally

This initiative is expected to raise awareness of the rules of Tajweed and proper recitation among broad segments of society. Locally, the Quranic recitation center strengthens the community's connection to the Holy Quran through recitation and contemplation. Internationally, it provides a reliable platform for Muslims worldwide to learn the Quran, free from unfounded individual interpretations, thus contributing to preserving the authenticity of the Quranic text and its correct pronunciation as revealed.
