Many regions experienced a noticeable drop in temperatures, reflecting the current winter weather conditions. Northern and mountainous areas recorded the coldest temperatures, while coastal cities maintained relatively moderate temperatures.

Climatic and geographical diversity in the Kingdom

This significant temperature variation reflects the diverse geographical nature of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While the northern regions (such as Tarif and Al-Qurayyat) and the mountainous highlands (such as As-Soudah) experience temperatures approaching or sometimes falling below zero degrees Celsius due to their altitude and proximity to polar influences, the coastal areas bordering the Red Sea (such as Jeddah and Jazan) retain their warmth due to humidity and the influence of water bodies, which limits the sharp drop in temperatures.

The importance of following weather reports

These daily reports are of paramount importance to citizens and residents for organizing their daily lives, especially during the winter season, which is characterized by constant weather fluctuations. Knowing the minimum temperatures helps in taking necessary precautions against colds and preparing appropriate clothing for children and school students. Furthermore, it is crucial for farmers in agricultural areas to protect their crops from potential frost in regions experiencing very low temperatures.
