Welcoming Egyptian pilgrims: Saudi Arabia welcomes the guests of God with coffee and roses

In an atmosphere of faith and genuine hospitality, Madinah welcomed the first group of pilgrims from Egypt for this year's Hajj season. The first group, numbering 103 pilgrims, received a warm welcome reflecting long-standing Saudi traditions. They were offered Saudi coffee, roses, and souvenirs, in addition to blessed Zamzam water and complimentary meals, amidst welcoming phrases expressing the eagerness to receive the guests of God.

Historical background and importance of the Hajj season

The arrival of Egyptian pilgrims marks the beginning of the influx of millions of Muslims from around the world to the Holy Land to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, attaches paramount importance to organizing this global religious event, drawing upon a long history of serving pilgrims. The Egyptian Hajj mission is one of the largest and most well-organized official delegations, reflecting the deep historical ties and strong fraternal bonds between the Kingdom and Egypt, which have spanned decades of cooperation in facilitating the affairs of Egyptian pilgrims.

Integrated efforts to serve the guests of God

The CEO of Ikram Al-Daif Company, Saudi Eid, affirmed that the relationship with the Egyptian Hajj mission is deep-rooted and strong, dating back to the establishment of the Tawafa (pilgrim service) program for Arab countries more than four decades ago. He noted that caring for and attending to Egyptian pilgrims is among their top priorities, wishing all pilgrims an easy, safe, and comfortable Hajj. For his part, the company's Deputy CEO, Ghazi Radi, explained that the company strives to provide the utmost comfort and convenience for pilgrims, in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who is committed to providing the highest quality services to the guests of God so they can perform their rituals in an atmosphere of faith and tranquility.

Impact and importance of the event

This reception is not merely a welcoming gesture; it carries deeper implications on local, regional, and international levels. Locally, it marks the beginning of a vital economic season for the holy cities. Regionally, it strengthens the bonds of brotherhood between the Kingdom and Egypt and highlights the success of joint coordination between Hajj missions. Internationally, it reinforces the Kingdom's image as a leading nation in crowd management and organizing the world's largest religious gatherings, reflecting its commitment to implementing the highest standards of service and quality within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the religious experience for pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah.

In this context, Fayek Maddah, Director of “Egyptian Pilgrims Relations”, stressed the continuation of efforts to receive approximately 25,000 Egyptian pilgrims from the lottery pilgrims belonging to the official mission, who will be served through 8 field centers with quality and innovative programs under the slogan “We fulfill your longing and create your memory”, which confirms the shift towards providing an unforgettable comprehensive Hajj experience.
