The Saudi Esports Federation announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Basketball Federation with the aim of establishing a framework for cooperation to develop the esports basketball sector, which is witnessing rapid growth and a remarkable increase in its presence locally and internationally.
The agreement was signed by Rawan Albutairi, CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, and Hisham Bin Qasim, CEO of the Saudi Basketball Federation. The memorandum focuses on supporting the discovery and development of Saudi talent capable of representing the Kingdom in international esports competitions.
Under the agreement, the two parties will work to enhance participation in tournaments and organize joint initiatives, in addition to exchanging technical and administrative expertise in order to contribute to the development of the sports work system in accordance with best practices.
The collaboration also aims to support national teams through specialized training programs based on advanced technical plans and strategies, in addition to developing the management of sports clubs and teams. This approach aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to develop the gaming and esports sector and enhance the Kingdom's presence in international competitions.
