The Saudi Cabinet praises the Syria agreement and condemns the Gaza violations

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - chaired the Cabinet meeting held today in the capital, Riyadh, which addressed a number of important political and regional issues, emphasizing the Kingdom’s leading role in promoting security and peace in the region.
Appreciating the Saudi-American efforts in Syria
At the start of the session, the Cabinet commended the positive developments in the Syrian file, praising the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for their cooperation with the intensive diplomatic efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the United States. These joint efforts resulted in a ceasefire agreement, which represents a pivotal step in resolving the Syrian crisis.
This agreement comes at a time when the region is in dire need of de-escalation, and it is hoped that this consensus will contribute to supporting Syria’s path towards restoring security and stability, preserving its territorial integrity, and creating the right atmosphere for sustainable political solutions that will end the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people that has continued for years.
A firm stance towards the Palestinian issue
On another note, the Council emphasized the important points of the statement issued by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom and the Arab and Islamic states, reiterating the Kingdom's unequivocal condemnation of the ongoing violations perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces. The Council affirmed that the occupation's breach of the ceasefire agreements in the Gaza Strip undermines all international efforts aimed at consolidating the truce and protecting civilians.
The Council noted that the continuation of these violations reflects a disregard for international conventions, which calls for a firm international stance to compel the occupation to respect UN resolutions and to ensure the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to those affected in the sector.
The Kingdom's leading role in the stability of the region
The outcomes of today's Cabinet meeting reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, to its pivotal role as a pillar of stability in the Middle East. Saudi diplomacy continues its active engagement on various complex issues, whether through direct mediation, as seen in the Syrian crisis, or by mobilizing international and Islamic support for just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, in a manner that serves the interests of the region's peoples and fosters opportunities for development and prosperity, rather than conflict and war.
