The Saudi security force successfully concluded its mission today in the joint tactical exercise for security agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, "Arabian Gulf Security 4," hosted by the State of Qatar. The exercise concluded with active participation in the security activities of the closing ceremony, held under the patronage and in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and in the presence of Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Battal, Saudi Deputy Minister of Interior, and a number of other Gulf security leaders.

The closing ceremony featured a demonstration of highly detailed field security scenarios, including scenarios simulating potential threats such as countering terrorist attacks targeting vital economic facilities, responding to maritime disasters, handling armed robberies, and riot control tactics. The participating forces demonstrated an outstanding level of operational integration and joint coordination among the security agencies of the GCC countries, showcasing advanced skills and capabilities to effectively address various emerging security challenges.

Context of Gulf security cooperation

The "Arabian Gulf Security 4" exercise is a continuation of the series of joint security exercises that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have been regularly organizing, based on the security agreements signed between member states. These exercises aim to enhance joint security efforts, raise the combat and field readiness of security forces, and unify security concepts to confront threats that could jeopardize the security and stability of the region. This fourth iteration is of particular importance given the evolving nature of modern security threats, which necessitates the continuous updating of plans and countermeasures.

The strategic importance of the exercise

The participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by sectors of the Ministry of Interior and the Presidency of State Security, carries strategic significance, underscoring the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting the unified Gulf security system. This exercise contributes to the exchange of field and knowledge-based expertise among Gulf security personnel and the development of command, control, and communication mechanisms in joint operations. Furthermore, the exercise sends a clear message to the world about the readiness of the Gulf states to protect their economic resources and developmental achievements, and to stand united against any attempts to destabilize the region.

In conclusion, the success of this tactical exercise reflects the advanced level of security cooperation among the GCC countries, and establishes a new phase of sustainable security partnership that guarantees the safety and security of citizens and residents in all the Gulf Arab states.
