The Crown Prince receives a message from the President of Senegal to strengthen relations

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a written message from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal, relating to the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields and at all levels.

This message comes within the framework of ongoing communication between the two leaderships, reflecting the depth of the fraternal and diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Senegal. The message was received on behalf of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince by His Royal Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs during his meeting with the Special Envoy of the Senegalese President. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of bilateral relations and discussed issues of common interest.

A long history of diplomatic relations

Saudi-Senegalese relations are based on a long historical legacy of cooperation and mutual respect, with Senegal being one of the Kingdom's most important strategic partners in West Africa. This relationship has deep roots, spanning decades, and has been characterized by a convergence of political views on numerous regional and international issues, particularly within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations, where the two countries coordinate their positions to serve the interests of the Muslim world and promote international peace and security.

Developmental and economic role

On the development front, the Kingdom plays a pivotal role in supporting infrastructure and sustainable development projects in Senegal. The Saudi Fund for Development stands out, having financed numerous vital projects in Dakar and other Senegalese cities, encompassing sectors such as roads, water, energy, health, and education. This ongoing support reflects the Kingdom's commitment to supporting its sister nations and contributing to their economic advancement.

Prospects for cooperation in light of Vision 2030

This diplomatic engagement is particularly important in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on strengthening economic and investment partnerships with the African continent. The Kingdom views Senegal as a key gateway for investment in West Africa, where promising opportunities for cooperation exist in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, and mining. Furthermore, the recent Saudi-African Summit laid the foundation for a new phase of cooperation, aimed at attracting high-quality investments that will benefit the people of both countries.

The exchange of written messages between the top leaders confirms the shared commitment to pushing these relations towards broader horizons, and to activating joint committees and business councils to increase the volume of trade exchange, which enhances the position of the two countries as two active powers in their regional and international environment.
