Delivery orders in Saudi Arabia grew by 60% during the fourth quarter of 2025

The logistics and delivery services sector in Saudi Arabia recorded exceptional and historic performance during the fourth quarter of 2025, with the Public Transport Authority revealing that the total number of delivery requests exceeded 124 million across the Kingdom. This figure represents a remarkable 60% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, reflecting the significant shift in consumer behavior and the growing reliance on technological solutions.
Growth that aligns with the goals of Vision 2030
This growth is not merely a passing statistic, but a direct reflection of the successes achieved by the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, stemming from the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Kingdom aims to solidify its position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents. Advanced digital infrastructure and regulatory frameworks established by the Public Transport Authority have contributed to creating an attractive investment environment in this vital sector, encouraging companies to expand their fleets and enhance the quality of their services to meet growing demand.
Riyadh leads the logistics scene
According to the statistical bulletin, the capital, Riyadh, accounted for the lion's share of total transactions, confirming its position as an economic and demographic hub. The breakdown of percentages is as follows:
- Riyadh region: in the lead with 44.45%.
- Makkah Region: It came in second with a percentage of 22.17%.
- Eastern Region: It came in third place with a percentage of 15.90%.
The data also showed varying rates for the remaining regions, with Madinah recording 4.95%, Asir 3.31%, and Qassim 2.62%. Rates continued in other regions such as Tabuk (1.81%), Hail (1.67%), and Jazan (1.13%), while Najran, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, and Al-Baha each recorded rates of less than 1%.
Drivers of the rise and the impact of e-commerce
The Public Transport Authority attributed this significant increase to several key factors, most notably the continuous development of the transport system and the support for innovation in logistics services. The booming e-commerce sector also played a pivotal role in boosting demand, as online shopping and ordering food and groceries via smart applications have become an integral part of the daily lives of citizens and residents in the Kingdom.
Economic and investment impact
This growth carries significant economic implications, indicating an expanding labor market in this sector, increased job opportunities for Saudi youth, and the attraction of further foreign and domestic investment to the technology and logistics sector. Experts affirm that the continuation of this upward momentum will enhance the non-oil sector's contribution to GDP and support the Kingdom's comprehensive digital transformation.
