Joint Islamic coordination with Brunei Darussalam

In a related development concerning Saudi diplomatic efforts, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan received another telephone call from His Excellency Dato' Erywan Pehin Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam. The discussion during the call focused on the dangerous escalation in the Middle East region and the necessity of concerted Islamic and international efforts to defuse the crises.

The two ministers discussed a number of topics and issues of common interest, focusing on the importance of collective action within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to address current challenges and promote international peace and security.

The pivotal role of Saudi diplomacy

These contacts are of paramount importance given the delicate circumstances in the region, where Saudi Arabia is leading an intensive diplomatic effort at both the regional and international levels. Through its political weight and leadership position in the Arab and Islamic worlds, Riyadh seeks to garner international support to press for an immediate cessation of military operations and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected.

These talks are an extension of the efforts made by the ministerial committee appointed by the joint Arab-Islamic summit, which is chaired by the Kingdom, with the aim of formulating an effective international position that ends human suffering and opens a serious political horizon for achieving peace and sustainable stability in the Middle East, in accordance with international references and the Arab Peace Initiative.
