Saudi Foreign Minister discusses regional issues with Indonesia and Pakistan

As part of the active diplomatic efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen its international relations and coordinate positions on pressing issues, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, received two separate telephone calls today from his counterparts in the Republic of Indonesia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during which they discussed ways to support bilateral relations and reviewed regional and international developments.

Saudi-Indonesian talks: Strengthening joint cooperation

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs received a telephone call from His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Sugyon, during which they reviewed the strong relations between the two brotherly countries. These discussions are of particular importance given the significant role both countries play in the Islamic world; the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the Qibla of Muslims and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim-majority country.

These discussions come within the context of both countries' desire to develop economic and political cooperation, particularly in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which opens up broad horizons for mutual investments. Both countries also share active membership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the G20, making coordination between them essential to addressing global economic and geopolitical challenges.

The established strategic partnership with Pakistan

In a related development, Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a phone call from His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The call addressed the historical bilateral relations, which are described as deeply rooted, fraternal, and strategic.

Saudi-Pakistani relations serve as a model of stable alliances in the region, with Riyadh and Islamabad maintaining close cooperation in defense, economic, and political spheres. This call underscores the ongoing coordination between the two leaderships to enhance joint efforts and discuss matters of mutual interest, including efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.

The importance of diplomatic coordination at the present time

This diplomatic activity is of paramount importance given the current circumstances in the Middle East and the world, where the Kingdom plays a pivotal role in leading diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve conflicts. Experts point out that the Saudi Foreign Minister's outreach to major Islamic powers such as Indonesia and Pakistan reflects the Kingdom's commitment to unifying the Muslim world and coordinating perspectives on critical issues, particularly those related to the humanitarian and political situations in the region. This reinforces the Kingdom's position as an influential international player and a peacemaker.
