Saudi Foreign Minister and Al-Badawi discuss strengthening joint Gulf action

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, received today His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Mr. Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, as part of ongoing consultations to strengthen the Gulf home and unify visions towards various issues.

During the reception, which was attended by the Undersecretary for Multilateral International Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, a comprehensive review of the progress of joint Gulf action took place, where the two sides discussed the gains achieved during the past period and ways to build on them to ensure the continued development and prosperity of the GCC countries and their peoples.

Strengthening Gulf integration and interdependence

The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in various political, economic, and security fields, contributing to the advancement of integration and cohesion among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. This meeting underscores the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the GCC system and its unwavering commitment to overcoming any obstacles that might hinder the progress of Gulf unity, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of the GCC leaders and the hopes of the region's people for a more stable and prosperous future.

The meeting also reflects the GCC General Secretariat's commitment to continuous communication with member states to ensure the implementation of decisions issued by the Supreme Council of GCC leaders, in a manner that serves the higher interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
