97.4% of the population has access to medical services in the Kingdom | Vision 2030

An official report issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health revealed a significant leap forward in facilitating access to healthcare, with 97.4% of the Kingdom's population now having easy access to medical services. This major achievement, representing a notable increase from the 84.1% recorded in 2019, is one of the most prominent outcomes of the health transformation strategy adopted by the Kingdom as part of its ambitious Vision 2030.

This development is based on a strong and growing health infrastructure, which includes 20 integrated health clusters covering all regions of the Kingdom, supported by a capacity of up to 44,000 beds, in addition to 2,000 specialized primary care centers, ensuring the provision of comprehensive and accessible services for all, from major cities to outlying areas.

These figures are not a coincidence, but rather a direct result of the National Transformation Program and the Vision 2030 initiatives, which have given the health sector exceptional attention. The Vision aims to restructure the entire healthcare system, focusing on the principles of prevention over treatment, raising the quality and efficiency of services, and facilitating access to them. The establishment of health clusters is a fundamental pillar of this strategy, as it works to integrate the various levels of healthcare, from primary care centers to specialized hospitals, to ensure a seamless treatment journey for the patient.

Advanced infrastructure to ensure comprehensive access to medical services in the Kingdom

The strategic expansion of healthcare infrastructure has played a pivotal role in achieving this advanced level of coverage. Increasing the number of beds and strategically distributing primary healthcare centers ensures the capacity to meet the growing demand for healthcare resulting from population growth. This expansion is not only quantitative but also qualitative, through equipping facilities with the latest medical technologies and implementing best international practices. This enhances the healthcare system's capacity and strengthens its preparedness to address any emerging health challenges.

Figures reflecting the achievement: a leap in beneficiary satisfaction

The improvement wasn't limited to ease of access to services; it extended to the quality of the patient experience. Indicators showed a significant rise in patient satisfaction rates, with the inpatient experience recording a notable increase to 89%, compared to 82.4% in 2019. The overall patient experience improvement index reached 86.6%, a direct result of the development of the comprehensive care system. These figures reflect an improvement in the quality of services provided, a reduction in waiting times, and the empowerment of the patient as a key partner in their treatment journey, thus strengthening the trust of citizens and residents in the national healthcare system.
