Saudi Arabia provides aid to 4 countries: heart surgeries for children and winter clothing

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued to consolidate its global position as one of the most important donor countries of humanitarian aid, through the launch of a package of simultaneous medical and relief projects in four Arab and African countries, targeting the most needy groups of patients and refugees.
A unique medical project in Iraqi Kurdistan
In a move aimed at strengthening the healthcare sector and reducing waiting lists, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched a volunteer medical project for pediatric cardiac catheterization in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This project will run from December 25 to 31, 2025, with the participation of a select group of eight volunteers from various specialized medical fields.
The project aims to provide therapeutic catheterization procedures for 30 children from low-income families, thus saving their lives and alleviating the heavy financial burden on their families. The Saudi Consul in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Asiri, praised this initiative, emphasizing that it reflects the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and embodies the deep fraternal ties between the two nations.
Winter clothing in Lebanon: the "Kanaf" project
In response to climate challenges, the center distributed 657 shopping vouchers in the Sidon and Tripoli regions of Lebanon, as part of the fourth phase of its winter clothing distribution project (Kanaf-4) for 2025. This project aims to protect vulnerable groups from the harsh winter cold. The vouchers benefited 657 individuals, including orphans and people with disabilities among Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy families from the host community, giving them the freedom to choose what suits them from participating stores.
Supporting food security in Chad and Sudan
Regarding food security, the Kingdom continued its support efforts in Africa. The center distributed 432 cartons of dates to refugees from Sudan in the Meri Sabri camp in the Wadi Fira region of Chad, as part of a project aiming to distribute 800 tons of dates. Simultaneously, in Sudan's Al-Jazirah State, 2,000 cartons of dates were distributed in the Greater Madani locality, benefiting 8,439 individuals, as part of a larger project to distribute 267 tons of dates.
These integrated efforts come to confirm the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in international humanitarian work, and its constant endeavor to alleviate the suffering of peoples affected by health and economic crises and natural disasters around the world.
