Hajj instructions 1445: Saudi Ministry of Interior warns of penalties for violators
As the peak of the Hajj season for the year 1445 AH approaches, the Saudi Ministry of Interior renewed its call to all citizens, residents and visitors to strictly adhere to the regulations and instructions governing the performance of the pilgrimage, stressing that a valid Hajj permit is an essential condition that cannot be compromised to ensure the safety, security and comfort of the pilgrims.
Historical context and importance of organizing the Hajj
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and the world's largest religious gathering, with Saudi Arabia welcoming millions of pilgrims from around the globe annually. Over the decades, managing these crowds has presented immense logistical and security challenges. As a result, the Kingdom has developed a comprehensive system of regulations aimed at effectively managing the crowds, preventing stampedes and overcrowding, and ensuring the highest levels of service. The Hajj permit system is a cornerstone of this system, allowing for the regulation of pilgrim numbers in accordance with the capacity of the holy sites and available infrastructure.
The impact of adhering to instructions on the pilgrim's experience
Adherence to the regulations is not merely a legal obligation, but an integral part of ensuring a safe and smooth Hajj experience. Locally, the organization guarantees the smooth flow of movement in Mecca, Medina, and the holy sites, and reduces pressure on health, security, and logistical services. Internationally, the success of the Hajj season reflects the Kingdom's civilized image and its ability to manage this global event efficiently and effectively. It also protects pilgrims from abroad from falling victim to fraudulent Hajj campaigns and scams that exploit their desire to perform the pilgrimage.
Strict penalties for violators
The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that anyone caught performing Hajj without a valid permit will face severe penalties. These penalties include fines, deportation from the Kingdom for violating residents, and a ban on re-entry for periods determined by law. The Ministry also emphasized that visit, tourist, work, and other types of visas do not authorize their holders to perform Hajj. The Ministry urged everyone to cooperate and report any fraudulent Hajj campaigns or unlicensed offices by calling the designated numbers: 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Provinces, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, in order to protect pilgrims and ensure they are not deceived.
A call for cooperation for a safe Hajj
In closing, the Ministry of Interior urged everyone to cooperate with security and regulatory authorities and to fully comply with instructions issued by official bodies, particularly the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. It clarified that Hajj permits can only be obtained through official, approved channels, ensuring pilgrims a well-organized and fully serviced spiritual journey from arrival until the completion of their rituals and their safe departure.
