Saudi Arabia's Duaa Khodari wins two gold medals at the Kuwait Invention Exhibition

In a new national achievement added to the record of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in international scientific forums, the Saudi inventor and member of the “Mawhiba” Association, Duaa Nizar Khodari , achieved a resounding victory by obtaining two gold medals in the sixteenth edition of the International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East (IIFME) , which was hosted by the sisterly State of Kuwait during the period from 8 to 12 February 2026.
Details of the Saudi achievement in Kuwait
The Saudi inventor won the first gold medal awarded by the exhibition management, in addition to a second gold medal for "Best Invention at the Exhibition," awarded by the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA). This recognition came in appreciation of her innovative invention: a "device for filtering materials and recycling used liquids," which represents a sustainable technological solution addressing significant environmental and economic challenges.
Khodari participated in this international event with the support and nomination of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba”, to represent the Kingdom for the third time, which reflects the great confidence in her scientific and innovative abilities.
A journey of continuous creativity since 2013
This victory was no accident; it is the culmination of a long journey of research and development. Inventor Duaa Khodari had previously won first place for the same device in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity "Ibdaa 2013," an annual competition organized by Mawhiba in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Her efforts culminated in 2024 with the receipt of an official patent for the device, which is characterized by its high efficiency in liquid processing, opening up broad horizons for its application in the industrial and environmental sectors.
The importance of the International Exhibition of Inventions (IIFME)
This victory is particularly significant given the prestigious status of the International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East, one of the world's largest specialized exhibitions and the leading one in the region. Held annually since 2007, the exhibition is highly competitive, showcasing over 180 inventions each year and attracting inventors and investors from more than 34 countries. It serves as a vital platform connecting inventors with investors, thereby enhancing the opportunities to transform research ideas into tangible commercial products.
Vision 2030 and empowering Saudi minds
This achievement reflects the success of Saudi Arabia's strategies under Vision 2030 , which places great emphasis on developing human capital and transitioning to a knowledge-based economy. The Mawhiba Foundation plays a pivotal role in this context by discovering and nurturing young national talent through advanced enrichment and training programs, enabling them to compete globally and raise the Kingdom's profile in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
