South Africa: Storms and winds cause power outages
Storms have wreaked havoc on South Africa's electricity supply , with nationwide power outages reported.
Bloomberg News, which broke the story today, reported that South Africa's state-owned electricity company confirmed that while major disruptions in the Eastern Cape province have been largely resolved, the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and the Free State remain severely affected.
The company added that the adverse weather conditions are putting significant strain on response times, particularly in areas difficult to access due to flooding, damaged infrastructure, or unsafe terrain, and that emergency teams are working around the clock to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.
