The Minister of Information launches the Artificial Intelligence document at the Saudi Media Forum

In a strategic move that outlines the future of the media sector in the region, Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, announced a huge package of qualitative initiatives that included the launch of 12 major initiatives, during his opening speech for the fifth edition of the Saudi Media Forum 2026 , which is being hosted by the capital, Riyadh.
AI Principles Document: A Commitment to Responsibility and Innovation
The Minister's announcements were headlined by the release of the "Principles of Artificial Intelligence in Media" document, a pioneering step undertaken in strategic partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). This document aims to establish regulatory and ethical frameworks to solidify the principle of responsible use of modern technologies in content creation, reflecting the Kingdom's awareness of the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid technological advancements. This step comes at a time of widespread global debate surrounding the governance of artificial intelligence, thus reaffirming the Kingdom's leading role in shaping the future of digital media.
Empowering Creators: From Ideas to Sustainability
In support of the innovation ecosystem, Al-Dossari announced the launch of the "Saudi Mb" media innovation camp, alongside the "Tamkeen" and "Nomo" initiatives. These initiatives directly aim to nurture entrepreneurial ideas and transform them from mere theoretical concepts into sustainable business models, thereby contributing to the growth of the creative economy and the creation of new job opportunities in the sector, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of diversifying income sources.
The Saudi Media Forum: A global platform with a Saudi vision
This year's forum, themed "Media in a Changing World," was launched under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – a fact the Minister affirmed gave the event a broader dimension and deeper vision. The forum, which runs from February 2nd to 4th, 2026, is witnessing significant momentum with the participation of more than 300 media leaders and experts from around the world, speaking in over 150 dialogue sessions.
The forum sessions will discuss the radical transformations in the media industry, the impact of big data, and the future of journalism in the digital age. Concurrently, the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) will take place, boasting a record-breaking participation of over 250 local and international companies in its latest edition, making it the largest gathering of media technologies and solutions in the region and an ideal opportunity to exchange expertise and forge strategic partnerships.
This event represents a pivotal turning point, as it not only reports the news but also seeks to shape the future, confirming Riyadh’s position as an influential media capital capable of leading the regional and international media landscape towards broader horizons of professionalism and advanced technology.
