Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior participates in the Arabian Gulf Security Exercise 4 in Qatar

The Saudi Ministry of Interior is actively participating in the security exhibition accompanying the joint tactical exercise for security agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, "Arabian Gulf Security 4," which is being hosted by the State of Qatar at the Qatar Mall from January 30 to February 4, 2026. This participation underscores the Kingdom's leading role in strengthening the joint Gulf security system.

Review of advanced technologies and drug control

The Ministry’s participation in this important Gulf forum aims to highlight the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in several key areas, foremost among them the war on drugs, where the Ministry will showcase to the exhibition’s visitors its well-defined strategies in combating drug smuggling and promotion at the local, regional and international levels, and the preemptive strikes directed at criminal networks.

The pavilion also highlights the technological boom witnessed by the Saudi security sectors, through the use of artificial intelligence technologies to enhance the security and safety of citizens, residents and visitors, in addition to showcasing accumulated expertise in crowd management, and introducing advanced electronic services through the “Absher” platform, which is a leading model in government digital transformation.

Context of the exercise and its strategic importance

The “Arabian Gulf Security 4” exercise is of paramount strategic importance given the growing security challenges facing the region and the world. This exercise is a continuation of the series of joint exercises that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have been regularly conducting, based on the firm principle that the security of the Gulf states is indivisible. These exercises aim to enhance security preparedness, standardize field operations, and strengthen joint command and control mechanisms to counter any potential threats.

The joint tactical exercise began approximately five days ago, with the participation of specialized security forces from the Saudi Ministry of Interior and the Presidency of State Security, along with their counterparts from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and specialized security units from the United States. The exercise focuses on simulating diverse security scenarios that require rapid response and high-level coordination, reflecting the significant advancements achieved by GCC security agencies in handling crises and emergencies.

Strengthening joint security cooperation

Through this field participation and the accompanying exhibition, the Kingdom seeks to strengthen security cooperation and exchange field and technical expertise among the internal security sectors of the GCC countries. This security gathering provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest equipment and technologies used in security work, contributing to the development of human resources and enhancing their capabilities in protecting homelands and their resources.
