Al-Jadaan: Saudi Arabia's participation in Davos 2026 will boost the global economy

His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, scheduled to be held in Davos, Switzerland in 2026 under the theme “The Spirit of Dialogue,” represents a continuation of the Kingdom’s tireless efforts to strengthen frameworks for joint international action. This participation underscores Riyadh’s commitment to actively contributing to the development of sustainable solutions to the economic challenges facing the world, amidst rapidly evolving geopolitical and economic landscapes.

Strategic weight in international forums

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Jadaan noted that Saudi Arabia's growing role and direct influence on the international stage are based primarily on the strength of the national economy and the prestigious position the Kingdom enjoys regionally and internationally. As an active member of the G20, the Kingdom continues to leverage its economic weight to contribute to policymaking and steer the global economy towards stability and growth, benefiting from the Davos platform, which brings together a select group of decision-makers, business leaders, and academics from around the world.

A roadmap for addressing global challenges

The Minister of Finance explained that this year's forum agenda will focus on discussing five pressing global challenges that require a collective response, namely:

  • Building trust and promoting joint action: to ensure fruitful international cooperation that transcends political differences.
  • Engines of sustainable growth: Searching for new mechanisms to drive the economy without harming resources.
  • Human capital: Focusing on skills development and investing in human resources to keep pace with the future labor market.
  • Responsible use of technology: Ensuring that innovations are employed to serve humanity.
  • Environmental sustainability: Integrating environmental standards into the core of economic growth models.

Vision 2030: A Global Model for Economic Transformation

In a related context, Al-Jadaan emphasized that the tangible successes achieved by the Kingdom within the framework of Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of economic diversification and reducing dependence on oil, will be prominently featured in the visions presented by the Saudi delegation. He affirmed that the Kingdom's strategic investments in renewable energy, modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity directly align with the topics under discussion in Davos.

Through this participation, the Kingdom seeks to present its pioneering experience in digital transformation and sustainability as a model that can be used globally, which enhances opportunities to attract foreign investments and directly benefits the Saudi economy, confirming the alignment of the national vision’s objectives with global aspirations for a more prosperous and stable future.
