Saudi League Awards February 2026: Carrasco, Jesus, and Pinto are the best

The Saudi Professional League (SPL) announced the winners of the Best Player awards for February 2026, which witnessed strong competition and remarkable brilliance from the stars of the capital's clubs, as Al-Nassr succeeded in imposing its dominance by winning two out of four awards, while Belgian star Yannick Carrasco stole the spotlight with an exceptional performance with Al-Shabab.
In detail, Belgian Yannick Carrasco, captain of Al Shabab, was crowned Player of the Month after leading a remarkable attacking resurgence for the team. Carrasco directly contributed to 9 of his team's 12 goals in February, scoring 6 himself and providing 3 assists. This individual brilliance positively impacted the team's scoring rate, which, for the first time, surpassed one goal per game, averaging 1.25 goals per game, thus ending their previous goal-scoring drought.
On the technical leadership front, the experienced Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, manager of Al-Nassr, deservedly won the Best Coach award. Jesus led the "Global" team to a perfect record in February, winning six consecutive matches across rounds 20 to 24, in addition to the postponed round 10. This golden streak of victories propelled the team back to the top of the league standings, highlighting the excellent tactical work being done by the Portuguese coach.
Al-Nassr's dominance wasn't limited to the technical aspects of the game; it extended to the goalkeeping position as well, with Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto winning the Best Goalkeeper award. The statistics speak for themselves regarding Pinto's solidity. He played six matches in February (out of a total of 11), conceding only one goal and keeping five clean sheets, making him a cornerstone of the team's defensive strength, which ensured they didn't drop a single point during this crucial month.
In the rising stars category, young talent Abdulaziz Al-Aliwa (21 years old), a player for Al-Kholoud Club, continued to prove his worth by winning the Promising Player Award for the third time this season, having previously won it in October and December. Al-Aliwa was a key player for his team, participating in all six matches during February and scoring crucial goals that contributed to his team achieving three important victories.
These awards reflect the significant development and fierce competition in the Saudi Professional League for the 2025-2026 season, as the numbers show a convergence in levels and the emergence of international and local names that make a difference, which enhances the league’s position as one of the strongest leagues in the region and attracts the attention of followers around the world.
