A drone attack on the Ras Tanura oil refinery in Saudi Arabia was thwarted

Saudi Arabia announced that it had successfully thwarted a terrorist attack targeting the Ras Tanura refinery, one of the world's most vital oil facilities. Official sources confirmed that the attack was carried out using a drone launched from the sea, which was intercepted and destroyed before reaching its target, thus preventing any casualties or property damage.

A Saudi Ministry of Energy official stated that debris from the drone fell in a residential area belonging to Saudi Aramco, but divine intervention and the vigilance of air defenses prevented any casualties. The official emphasized that such acts of sabotage target not only the Kingdom and its national assets but also aim to destabilize the security and stability of global energy supplies, posing a direct threat to the global economy.

The Ras Tanura refinery holds paramount strategic importance. Located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom, it is Aramco's oldest and largest oil refinery, as well as the world's largest oil shipping port. This facility plays a pivotal role in meeting global energy demand, making any threat to it a direct threat to global oil markets and maritime navigation.

This incident comes amid a series of repeated attempts to target the Kingdom's energy infrastructure, which have been met with widespread international condemnation. Observers believe that the continuation of these attempts reflects the desire of hostile actors to undermine the Kingdom's position as the world's largest oil exporter. However, Saudi Arabia has repeatedly demonstrated its high capacity to protect its facilities and ensure the uninterrupted flow of oil to global markets.

In closing the official statements, the Kingdom renewed its call to the international community to assume its responsibilities in standing against these terrorist attacks that threaten international peace and security, while at the same time affirming its full readiness to confront any attacks that may affect its security or global energy security.
