Saudi Scouts: 750 volunteers to serve visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan

The Saudi Arabian Scouts Association continues to write the most wonderful epics of volunteer and humanitarian work in the vicinity of the Two Holy Mosques, as hundreds of boys and young men participate in public service camps during the holy month of Ramadan, presenting an honorable civilized model that reflects the authentic values of Saudi society in giving and generosity.
A historical legacy of service and giving
This scouting presence during religious seasons is not a recent phenomenon, but rather an extension of a long history of service provided by Saudi scouts to pilgrims. For decades, the scout uniform has been associated in the minds of pilgrims with safety, guidance, and assistance. These efforts have evolved from individual initiatives into organized institutional work that enjoys local and international recognition, contributing to a positive image of the Kingdom's youth.
750 volunteers in the field
In the current phase of participation, more than 750 scouts, youths, and leaders are deployed in the courtyards of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. These personnel are distributed with meticulous organization, with over 400 scouts participating in the holy city and another 350 in Medina, all working together seamlessly to serve the pilgrims until the end of the holy month.
Field tasks and logistical support
The tasks performed by Scout heroes vary and include a wide range of vital services, most notably:
- Crowd management: Contributing to organizing the flow of worshippers and pilgrims to ensure smooth movement in corridors and courtyards.
- Guidance and orientation: Assisting lost people and guiding them to the gates of the sanctuary or their places of residence and transportation stations.
- Security support: Providing support to the special forces for Hajj and Umrah security and security patrols in central areas.
- Humanitarian care: helping the elderly and disabled, and pushing wheelchairs for those in need.
Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
These efforts are perfectly aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to reach one million volunteers, as public service camps provide a fertile ground for instilling a culture of volunteerism in young people. These initiatives also align with the "Messengers of Peace" global initiative and the Sustainable Development Goals by empowering youth, developing their leadership skills, and promoting the concepts of responsible citizenship and global peace.

Strategic partnership to serve the guests of God
The scouts work hand in hand with the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques and security and health authorities, embodying the integration of roles between the government and volunteer sectors. This fruitful cooperation ensures the provision of the highest quality services to pilgrims, facilitating their performance of rituals with ease and tranquility, thus affirming that serving the Two Holy Mosques is an honor sought by all the people of the Kingdom.
