Saudi Arabia weather today: Jeddah 30 degrees, Hail coldest at 13

Saudi Arabia experienced a noticeable climatic contrast on Sunday, reflecting the country's great geographical diversity. Jeddah topped the list, recording the highest temperature in the Kingdom at 30 degrees Celsius , making it the warmest destination compared to other regions. Meanwhile, the northern regions recorded a significant drop in temperatures, with Hail being the coldest city on Sunday.
Temperature details for coastal and western regions
According to today's weather data, the western coastal areas enjoyed warm and sunny conditions, making them a popular destination for visitors at this time of year. The temperature details are as follows:
- Jeddah: 30 degrees Celsius (first place).
- Mecca: 29 degrees Celsius (second place).
- Jazan: 28 degrees Celsius, with some scattered clouds observed.
This rise in temperatures on the west coast is mainly due to the marine influences of the Red Sea and the low land level, which keeps the weather warm during the day.
Northern regions and southern highlands: noticeable cold
In contrast, the northern regions and southern highlands experienced cooler weather, requiring residents to wear warmer clothing, especially during the early morning and evening hours. Hail the lowest maximum temperature on the list at 13 degrees Celsius . Temperatures were similar in the southern highlands, with both Abha and Al-Baha 14 degrees Celsius. Partly cloudy skies were observed in Al-Baha, adding to the area's pleasant winter atmosphere.
Stable weather in the central and eastern regions
Stable weather prevailed in the central and northern regions of the Kingdom, with temperatures remarkably similar in several major cities, recording 16 degrees Celsius in each of:
- Riyadh (the capital).
- Buraydah.
- Sakaka.
In the Eastern Province, the weather varied slightly, with Al-Ahsa 20 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies, while Dammam at 19 degrees Celsius under sunny skies, the same temperature recorded in Medina.
Geographical diversity and its impact on climate
This daily report reflects the diverse geography of Saudi Arabia. While the western coasts receive warm, humid air currents, the northern regions are affected by cold air masses from the north, and the topography and highlands play a crucial role in lowering temperatures in the south (the Sarawat Mountains). This diversity makes the Kingdom a unique tourist destination offering multiple climatic experiences simultaneously, from enjoying the warm beaches of Jeddah to experiencing the winter weather in Hail and the highlands.
