Saudi Arabia's weather during Ramadan: Temperature variations and meteorological preparations

With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, citizens, residents, and pilgrims alike turn their attention to weather reports, given their direct impact on daily life and religious observances during this blessed month. In this context, the National Center of Meteorology has revealed the expected weather patterns in the Kingdom during the first week of Ramadan, noting a significant difference in temperatures between day and night.

Expected weather conditions: Warm weather and brisk winds

The National Center for Meteorology's report indicated that the weather will be warm during the daytime, while turning cooler at night, especially in the northern regions of the Kingdom. These weather fluctuations are a natural characteristic of the transitional periods between seasons, necessitating careful consideration when choosing clothing and the timing of going out, particularly in the evenings and early mornings.

Regarding wind patterns, the Kingdom is experiencing active surface winds that are stirring up dust and sand. This activity and its effects will begin in the northern and western regions of the Kingdom, gradually extending to include the central and eastern regions. Forecasts also indicate partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the northern parts, which may moderate the daytime temperatures.

Meteorological readiness to serve the pilgrims

As part of its logistical and technical preparations, the National Center for Meteorology announced it has raised its operational readiness for the holy month of Ramadan. This step is part of a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at covering all vital geographical areas, with a particular focus on Mecca, Medina, the holy sites, as well as the highways leading to the Two Holy Mosques, airports, and border crossings.

The center's CEO, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, confirmed the completion of all technical and technological preparations, noting that the center operates according to a precise operational plan that ensures round-the-clock monitoring of the atmosphere. This plan aims to provide real-time and accurate data to support relevant authorities in managing crowds and facilitating the movement of pilgrims and visitors, thus ensuring their safety and comfort while performing the rituals.

The importance of weather monitoring during Ramadan

Monitoring weather conditions becomes even more crucial during Ramadan, as the weather directly impacts the comfort of those fasting and performing Umrah. Accurate forecasts of potential weather phenomena, such as dust storms or temperature fluctuations, help service and security agencies take the necessary measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and road safety, especially given the high volume of traffic on the roads leading to Mecca and Medina during this holy month.
