
Saudi Arabia provides aid to Gaza's children: Winter clothing distributed through the King Salman Center
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center its relief programs in the Gaza Strip. The Center, in cooperation with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, distributed complete sets of winter clothing to affected children in displacement camps in the southern Gaza Strip.
The initiative was not limited to providing in-kind assistance, but also included organizing recreational events and interactive activities for children, aimed at creating an atmosphere of joy and happiness, and trying to alleviate the difficult psychological effects left by the conditions of war and displacement.
The importance of the initiative during a harsh winter
This step comes at a critical time, as displaced people in the Gaza Strip face harsh winter conditions amid a severe shortage of heating and adequate shelter. Winter clothing is an urgent necessity to protect children from the cold and related illnesses, making this aid crucial for safeguarding the health and well-being of the most vulnerable.
The Saudi Popular Campaign: A Bridge of Giving
This aid falls under the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. Since its inception, this campaign has successfully established air and sea bridges, transporting thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials, reaffirming the Kingdom's longstanding and unwavering commitment to supporting Arab and humanitarian causes.
Beneficiary reactions
This initiative was widely welcomed by the beneficiary families, who expressed their deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, and to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The beneficiaries affirmed that this noble humanitarian gesture brought moments of joy to their children amidst their suffering, and put smiles on faces worn down by homelessness. They noted that the provision of winter clothing restored a long-awaited sense of security, warmth, and brotherly care.
The Kingdom continues to harness all its capabilities through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center, to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and to work to provide the basic requirements for a decent life for the Palestinian brothers in light of the current exceptional circumstances.
