The Saudi women's national team training camp kicks off in Jeddah with the participation of 24 players

The Saudi Arabian U-20 women's national team launched its training camp in Jeddah on Thursday, which is scheduled to run until February 21. This camp is part of the comprehensive technical plan developed by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to prepare its youth national teams, aiming to raise the players' technical and physical readiness and ensure the continued development of women's football in the Kingdom.
The national team's coaching staff has called up a squad of 24 players for this training camp, including a selection of rising talents: Dima Sheikh, Al-Jawhara Turki, Sara Nayef, Layan Amir, Aseel Ahmed, Tulin Al-Ghamdi, Mawada Al-Magharbi, Maria Baghfar, Joan Al-Nassar, Maha Al-Badrani, Reem Shadi, Miral Daghistani, Jude Al-Amoudi, Lulu Abdullah, Lama Thamer, Rimas Ahmed, Zahra Talib, Dana Al-Dahyan, Yasmin Malibari, Zainab Reda, Lamar Wael, Heba Ohashi, Malakout Al-Salem, and Kenzi Alaa. The coaching staff aims to create a cohesive team capable of representing the Kingdom in upcoming competitions.
This training camp is of particular importance as it comes as a continuation of the accelerated efforts undertaken by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation since the establishment of its women's football department. The past few years have witnessed unprecedented leaps forward, from the launch of the Women's Premier League and First Division League to the national women's team's entry into the FIFA rankings. Focusing on the under-20 women's national team is a cornerstone for ensuring the sustainability of these successes, as these players form the true core of the senior national team in the near future.
The training camp program includes intensive sessions focusing on tactical and technical aspects, as well as fostering cohesion among the players selected from various clubs. The coaching staff aims to address technical deficiencies and improve physical fitness levels, thereby enhancing team performance and preparing the national team for upcoming regional and continental competitions, including West Asian Football Federation tournaments and Asian Cup qualifiers.
These sporting initiatives are perfectly aligned with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which has placed great emphasis on the sports sector and the empowerment of women in various fields. Promoting women's participation in sports and building competitive national teams is an integral part of the Quality of Life Program, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global sporting destination and create a stimulating environment for young national talents to showcase their abilities on the international stage.
