New Absher services: 7 reports to print and name modification

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to enhance digital transformation and automate government services in line with the goals of Vision 2030, the "Absher" electronic platform continues to expand its services to facilitate the lives of citizens and residents. This platform, the technological arm of the Ministry of Interior, has revolutionized service delivery, saving time and effort and reducing the need to visit government offices.

7 official reports available for printing via Absher

The Absher platform, through its official channels and FAQ guide, has announced the availability of seven vital reports that users can print and use in various official and legal procedures. This step aims to enhance transparency and enable individuals to easily access their documented data. The list includes:

  1. My report: This is a comprehensive report on the beneficiary's basic data.
  2. Family members data report: To document kinship and family data.
  3. Vehicle Report: Shows details of vehicles registered in the beneficiary's name.
  4. Traffic violation report: A detailed list of recorded violations.
  5. Traffic Accident Report: A Historical Record of Accidents.
  6. Travel log data report: Shows entry and exit movements from the Kingdom.
  7. Domestic worker report: Concerns data on workers registered under an individual's sponsorship.

Regulations for renewing the national identity card photo

In a related context, regarding civil status services, the agency has set precise technical standards for accepting personal photos when renewing the national identity card, in order to ensure the quality of official documents and their compliance with international security standards:

  • The background should be completely white.
  • The photo should be recent (no more than 6 months old).
  • Clear facial features, free from exaggerated expressions or cosmetics that alter the features.
  • The image should be free of ink spots or holes.
  • Take the picture straight while avoiding the "red-eye" effect.

Online first name change service

As a complement to the electronic services system, the Civil Status Department activated the first name change service via the Absher platform, which allows citizens to modify their names or the names of their family members (under 18 years old) without the need to visit the offices, according to specific conditions that ensure the integrity of civil records.

Terms and conditions of service:

  • Time period: Implementation is immediate for names listed in the civil status lists, and takes up to 5 working days for names not listed.
  • Cost: The service is completely free.
  • Number of times: Two edits are allowed, provided that the second time is to revert to the previous name.
  • Controls: The name must not be identical to that of a family member, parental consent is required for those under the age of majority, and the record must be free of pending applications.

This development in electronic services reflects the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to raising the efficiency of government work, as these services contribute to reducing traffic congestion, lowering operational costs, and preserving the environment by reducing paper transactions.
