
The Sultan of Oman receives the Saudi Foreign Minister to discuss regional issues
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, received His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat, the capital, in an official visit reflecting the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries. During the meeting, His Royal Highness the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their wishes for the Sultanate and its brotherly people to enjoy further progress and prosperity.
Strengthening bilateral relations and strategic partnership
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, which have witnessed significant progress in recent years thanks to the directives of the leadership of both countries. The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, particularly in light of the outcomes of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, which aims to align the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 with Oman’s Vision 2040. This cooperation focuses on vital sectors including investment, energy, infrastructure, and trade, thereby strengthening economic integration among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Developments in regional and international issues
On the regional front, pressing issues in the region dominated the discussions. The two sides addressed the current situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, emphasizing the need to intensify international efforts to halt the escalation, protect civilians, and work towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people. The Yemeni crisis was also discussed, with Muscat and Riyadh playing pivotal and complementary roles in supporting peace efforts, working to solidify the ceasefire, and reaching a comprehensive political solution that ends the Yemeni crisis and restores stability to the region.
