Classes in Qassim are suspended today, Thursday, and will be conducted remotely via Madrasati

The General Directorate of Education in the Qassim region announced the suspension of in-person classes today, Thursday, in all its affiliated schools for male and female students, school staff, and education offices, based on reports received from the National Center for Meteorology, and in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
The administration explained that the educational process will not stop, but will continue through the approved digital channels, as the study will be converted to be (remote) through the Madrasati platform for male and female students, and through the Rawdati platform for children, in addition to the approved platforms for male and female teachers and administrators, in order to ensure the continuation of the study plan without interruption.
Reasons for suspending studies and the decision-making process
This decision falls within the powers granted to education directors in regions and governorates, authorizing them to suspend in-person classes in cases of unstable weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall, dense dust storms, or strong winds that may pose a risk to students' safety while traveling to and from schools. Education departments base their decisions directly on alerts and early warnings issued by the National Center for Meteorology, in coordination with the relevant civil defense and public safety authorities.
Digital transformation in Saudi education: A success story
The rapid and seamless transition from in-person to remote learning in Saudi Arabia is one of the most significant achievements of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in the education sector. The Kingdom's digital education infrastructure has proven its high efficiency, ensuring that weather conditions or emergencies no longer disrupt academic progress.
The “My School” platform, a leading global model for managing e-learning, has contributed to providing an interactive learning environment that ensures continued communication between teachers and students. This success was not a sudden occurrence, but rather the result of massive investments in technology and training, making the “suspension of in-person classes” not a “disruption of education,” but simply a change in the method of learning to protect lives and property.
The importance and impact of preventive safety measures
The Ministry of Education places the safety of students and staff at the forefront of its priorities. The decision to suspend in-person classes under these circumstances contributes to alleviating traffic congestion and reducing the likelihood of accidents on wet roads or roads with poor visibility. This measure also reflects a high level of institutional awareness of responsibility towards the community and underscores the resilience of the Saudi education system in dealing with crises and unforeseen weather conditions.
In conclusion, the Qassim Education Department called on everyone to take precautions and follow the instructions of the Civil Defense and official authorities during these weather fluctuations, wishing everyone safety.
