Training suspended in Asir today, Wednesday: Full list of facilities

The General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training in the Asir region officially announced the suspension of in-person training on Wednesday in a number of its training facilities, based on reports received from the National Center for Meteorology, and out of concern for the safety of trainees and staff of the facilities.

Details of the decision to suspend training in Asir

The administration clarified in its statement that the training process will not be suspended, but will instead be conducted remotely via the institution's approved e-learning platform. This decision applies to training facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Ahad Rafidah, Al Namas, Tanomah, Balqarn, Al Farsha, Sarat Abidah, and Dhahran Al Janoub , for both male and female students.

Rapid response to weather warnings

This decision comes in response to ongoing warnings issued by the National Center for Meteorology, which indicated continued rainfall and forecasts of thunderstorms accompanied by active winds and reduced horizontal visibility in the highlands of the Asir region. These proactive measures are part of the safety protocols adopted in the Kingdom, which empower educational and training institutions in the regions to make appropriate decisions based on the latest weather developments.

Digital infrastructure and the continuity of education

The smooth transition from in-person to remote training reflects the robust digital infrastructure of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). The Kingdom has invested heavily in recent years in developing e-learning and training platforms, ensuring that the "suspension" option does not mean a halt to the educational process, but rather its continuation with high flexibility, guaranteeing that the training schedule remains unaffected.

The geographical and climatic nature of the Asir region

It should be noted that the Asir region is characterized by its rugged, mountainous terrain, with numerous obstacles and steep slopes that could pose a danger during heavy rainfall, flash floods, or dense fog. Therefore, suspending attendance in such conditions is a crucial necessity to protect lives and property and to alleviate traffic congestion, thus facilitating the movement of emergency services.

The General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training calls on all trainees and staff to adhere to the instructions and follow the official channels to find out about the resumption of in-person training in the coming days.
