12 initiatives honored at the conclusion of the Ta3zeez Award for Volunteer Work
In a national event that embodied the highest ideals of giving and social solidarity, the "Ta'zeez" Award for Volunteer Work concluded its third cycle by honoring 12 winners carefully selected from among 163 volunteer initiatives submitted for competition. The ceremony reflected the growing stature of the award as a leading platform for encouraging organized humanitarian work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with ambitious national aspirations.
A national context that supports volunteer work
The success of the "Ta'zeez" award cannot be viewed in isolation from the significant momentum witnessed by the non-profit sector in the Kingdom, which is a response to the objectives of Vision 2030. This ambitious vision aims to reach one million volunteers annually and increase the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP. This award serves as an effective tool in transforming volunteering from scattered individual efforts into sustainable, institutional work with a tangible developmental, economic, and social impact.
Details of the ceremony and honoring of pioneers
The event was attended by prominent figures in the field of philanthropy, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Charitable Societies in the Makkah Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Khairkum" Association, Engineer Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Hanafi. The evening was distinguished by the broad participation of male and female volunteers and the support of national companies and institutions, reflecting a prime example of the integration of roles between the private and third sectors in serving the community.
In her speech during the ceremony, Professor Khairia Mohammed Noor Rahimi, President of the Al-Faisaliah Association and Chair of the Award’s Organizing Committee, explained that “Ta’zeez” is not just a passing celebration, but rather an extension of a well-established approach aimed at making volunteering a fundamental pillar of sustainable development and one of the main enablers of national transformation, pointing to the pivotal role of volunteers in building a cohesive society.
These figures reflect the scale of the interaction and impact
Official statistics for the third cycle revealed widespread community engagement, with the award's media campaign garnering over 1.2 million views across social media platforms. Out of 163 initiatives submitted, 35 qualified for the final stages, and 21 outstanding initiatives were selected. Ultimately, 12 winners were crowned, representing the elite of volunteer work in diverse fields including social empowerment, development, and support for vulnerable groups.
Expected impact and importance of sustainability
These events gain their importance from their ability to highlight inspiring role models who encourage others to engage in volunteer work. Honoring individuals, teams, educational institutions, and governmental and private entities reinforces a culture of "social responsibility." Furthermore, focusing on the sustainability of initiatives ensures their continued benefit to society over the long term, reducing social burdens and enhancing quality of life, which directly contributes to the comprehensive development the country is witnessing.
The ceremony concluded with a special tribute to a number of pioneering women in charitable work, in recognition of their contributions over the years, and to emphasize that volunteer work is a legacy passed down through generations to serve the nation and humanity.
