Technical training and the city chamber are exploring ways to support the hotel and hospitality sector

In a move aimed at strengthening integration between training institutions and the private sector, the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training in Madinah received a high-level delegation from the Hotels Committee of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce today. This meeting was held to discuss avenues for joint cooperation and to unify efforts to achieve national objectives by developing a comprehensive action plan focused on investing in human capital and meeting the growing needs of the hospitality sector.

A roadmap for developing national talent

The meeting included extensive discussions on mechanisms for developing a comprehensive action plan to ensure optimal utilization of available training assets and human resources. Emphasis was placed on the need to design high-quality training programs that align with international hospitality standards, thereby meeting the demands of Madinah's rapidly expanding hotels. This initiative aims to enhance the readiness of young Saudi talent and equip them with the necessary technical and professional skills to enter the job market effectively and competently.

The importance of the hospitality sector in Medina

This step is of exceptional importance given the religious and geographical significance of Medina, a major destination for millions of visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers annually. The hospitality sector is the backbone of the local economy in the region, creating a pressing need for qualified personnel capable of providing hospitality services befitting the Kingdom's stature and the visitors to the Prophet's Mosque. Enhancing the skills of workers in this sector not only improves service quality but also directly contributes to enhancing the visitor experience, a key pillar of the Guests of God Service Program.

Keeping pace with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This meeting falls within the broader context of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation's efforts to align with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places significant emphasis on the tourism and hospitality sector as a key driver of national economic diversification. The Vision aims to reduce unemployment rates and increase Saudization in vital sectors, requiring a precise alignment between education and training outputs and the actual needs of the private sector.

Promoting sustainable partnerships

This collaboration underscores the Technical Training Corporation's commitment to activating strategic partnerships with chambers of commerce and relevant stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of human development. These efforts are expected to result in the launch of training initiatives that lead to employment, as well as development pathways for current employees, thereby enhancing market stability and boosting the competitiveness of national hotel establishments.
