Translators in several languages to serve pilgrims at the Dhu al-Hulayfah Miqat
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Madinah region, continues to implement its comprehensive operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season. This strategic step aims to ensure the provision of the best possible services to pilgrims and facilitate the performance of their rituals with complete peace of mind and ease, while taking into account the great cultural and linguistic diversity of visitors to the Prophet's Mosque.
The historical and religious significance of Dhul-Hulayfah
is Dhul-Hulayfah Miqatone of the most important and largest designated Miqats established by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for those intending to perform Hajj or Umrah. This Miqat holds particular significance as it is the designated point of entry for the people of Medina and for pilgrims passing through it from around the world. Due to its geographical distance from Mecca compared to other Miqats, it experiences an enormous influx of people, necessitating exceptional organizational and outreach preparations to accommodate these crowds and guide them correctly before they enter Ihram.
Translators in several languages to break the language barrier
With the arrival of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims speaking diverse languages, the Ministry ensured the availability of multilingual interpreters at the Dhu al-Hulayfah Miqat. This measure aims to overcome the language barrier that might hinder pilgrims' understanding of Islamic rulings. These interpreters facilitate direct and effective communication with pilgrims, delivering educational and guidance programs in their native languages, thus ensuring that religious information is conveyed accurately and in an accessible manner that respects the cultural and ethnic diversity of the pilgrims.
Religious awareness and legal guidance
Services provided at the designated points include distributing educational brochures and pamphlets, and explaining the rituals and rulings related to Hajj. Preachers and translators focus on enhancing religious awareness among pilgrims and encouraging adherence to the correct path in belief, worship, and conduct. They are also guided on how to perform their rituals correctly, and their religious inquiries and questions are answered promptly, helping them perform the Hajj with peace of mind and ease, avoiding common mistakes.
Local and international impact of services for pilgrims
Locally, these organized efforts contribute to facilitating crowd management and reducing congestion at the Miqat, as pilgrims who are mindful of their steps move more smoothly. Regionally and internationally, this exceptional care reflects the unwavering commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both its leadership and its people, to serving Islam and Muslims. These initiatives align with the objectives of the “Guests of God Service Program,” one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the religious and cultural experience of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
Continuity of giving during the Hajj season
These blessed efforts are part of a broad package of awareness and outreach programs implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs during the Hajj season. The Ministry is working to harness all its human and technological resources to serve the pilgrims, providing them with guidance from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom, through their stay in the holy sites, until their safe return home, thus facilitating their spiritual journey and achieving the ultimate goal of this religious duty.
