US President Donald Trump to provide a “great level of security” for oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, as Iran its grip on the vital waterway amid the US-Israeli standoff.
“I think you’re going to see a great level of security, and it’s going to happen very quickly,” Trump told reporters at the White House, responding to a question about whether he would guarantee safe passage through the strait, through which some 20 percent of the world’s seaborne oil supply passes.
